JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare and cook food, while also maintaining a clean and safe kitchen. Cooks may also help with menu planning, ordering ingredients, and training other kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

  • Food preparation: Wash, chop, and marinate ingredients
  • Cooking: Bake, fry, grill, and boil food
  • Food safety: Follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Kitchen maintenance: Clean workspaces, utensils, and dishes
  • Food storage: Manage food storage and stock levels
  • Menu planning: Help plan menus and order ingredients
  • Recipe selection: Select and follow recipes
  • Dietary needs: Adjust recipes to meet special dietary requirements
  • Presentation: Present attractive, garnished dishes
  • Communication: Liaise with wait staff and management

Must have culinary experience, professional demeanor and ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to follow instructions and lead with limited direction. Must be able to follow all food safety guidelines and regulations.
