JOB DESCRIPTION
Prepare and cook food, while also maintaining a clean and safe kitchen. Cooks may also help with menu planning, ordering ingredients, and training other kitchen staff.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation: Wash, chop, and marinate ingredients
- Cooking: Bake, fry, grill, and boil food
- Food safety: Follow food safety and sanitation regulations
- Kitchen maintenance: Clean workspaces, utensils, and dishes
- Food storage: Manage food storage and stock levels
- Menu planning: Help plan menus and order ingredients
- Recipe selection: Select and follow recipes
- Dietary needs: Adjust recipes to meet special dietary requirements
- Presentation: Present attractive, garnished dishes
- Communication: Liaise with wait staff and management
Must have culinary experience, professional demeanor and ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to follow instructions and lead with limited direction. Must be able to follow all food safety guidelines and regulations.
