Dock Auditor

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections and dock audits of staged material for local deliveries; verifies correct material and product, performs visual checks of proper labels, container conditions, packaging, etc.
  • Performs random audits on completed orders, verifying that the products selected match the order.
  • Ensures corrections are made to any errors discovered on the order before being shipped to the customer; authorized to reject and direct action for mis-picked, missing, or damaged product.
  • Assists in problem-solving and interfaces with Local Picking and Transportation teams as required.
  • Ensure orders are properly loaded on the trucks with driver/customer safety, quality, and efficiency in mind.
  • Ensure orders are marked and labeled with the proper branch transfer information.
  • Ensure pallets are safely stacked, being careful not to exceed maximum heights.
  • When chargeable errors are discovered, the auditor will notify the supervisor to review the error with the associate for proper coaching, with immediate feedback.
  • Performs random tote audits of complete orders on the dock to determine error rates.
  • Submits daily audit results to the transportation manager at the end of each shift.
  • Breaks down and assembles orders for shipment after picking is complete.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year of related experience in auditing, inventory control, quality control or quality assurance.
  • Ability to do simple math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to utilize RF warehouse management equipment.
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to operate material moving equipment such as a forklift, riding pallet jack, and manual pallet jack.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
