Qualifications

• Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments
• Ability to wear all required PPE (steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and other PPE as required)
• Ability to lift up to 65lbs or more
• Ability to read and understand work orders
• Knowledge in navigating different computer programs
• The operator may be required to operate a forklift
• Ability to communicate with employees
• Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, simple checklists, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and in small group situations
• Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ration and percent
• Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form

Responsibilities

• Follow all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance
• Perform duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management
• General housekeeping duties must be completed each shift
• Operator must be able to learn the different types of scrap we run and segregate
• Assist operator on start up and shut down, on changing screens, and cleaning die
• Ensure materials are set up for the order and for incoming personnel (boxes, skids, cores, or other needed material)
• Other tasks as assigned by Management, Supervisor or Lead
• Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area
