Maintenance worker Responsibilities:

Performs general construction work including carpentry, painting, and concrete finishing. Responsibilities also include trouble shooting, maintenance and repair related duties at Augusta facilities within the guidelines of work orders and Augusta GA and departmental rules and procedures. Reports to the Property and Maintenance Supervisor II or other designated person and works with co-workers and the public to provide operational support. Performs all other duties as assigned.

• • Applicable safety principles and practices;
  • Applicable equipment and materials.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of construction and maintenance practices and principles, City building codes, laws, regulations and City standards.
  • Familiarity with City and Department safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in general masonry, carpentry and mechanical methods and standards to accomplish repair work as well as for new construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Carpentry, HVAC, Masonry, Electrical, Painting material handling and tool or equipment usage skills
